It all started because I wanted to do the 2007 marathon and asked people to join in then it went from 10 people to 40 and still growing now I have coaches that come in and motivate the team and some top NZ runners take the team out running too. We have won the RUN Auckland corporate cup and we run all around NZ at races and we are all different levels.

I have been looking for clubs to join and to be honest it is hard to find a club that is flexible and caters to our needs and so many expect the runners to run a 6min mile to start out with too and this is real for newcomers. I often have many sports people trying to get involved with the team but they are always trying to sell something rather than help our people. I have lost count how many people have tried that this year. The team is still going strong and we raised $9650 for the heart foundation - I have spent many hours of my own time making the team what it is and keeping it all together - I doubt there are many others who would do the same for free...the age of our runners start at 22 years and majority around 30 - 36 years oldest 49 yearskimerlynzlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05101298980216450439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25570835.post-62246194080578023652007-01-07T15:22:00.000+13:002007-01-07T15:22:00.000+13:00I"ve seen a club room with a capacity for 200 line...I"ve seen a club room with a capacity for 200 lined with pictures of top legends of the past in NZ running. the club now hosts just a handful of resident runners. the junior ranks are thin. most members are middle aged.Waynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13582374966270259947noreply@blogger.com
