High levels of arsenic found in brown Australian rice

Arsenic is one of the most common toxins picked up in New Zealand and Australian people when tested using the hair tissue mineral analysis.  I have always assumed that the main cause is our heavy use of treated timbers.

It never occurred that Australian grown rice might be a significant contributor.  It would appear to be the case which is very disappointing.  By the way, there really is no lower limit for these potent toxins.  Who says 100 ppm or 200 ppm of arsenic in rice is acceptable or not and ceases to be safe for a child below that limit?
