Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) Outline of typical programme and Costs

First Assessment ($230)

This includes up to an hour of my time spent going through the report with you.  This is either as a face-to-face meeting, by phone or Skype.

The report usually takes 3-4 weeks to arrive from the time that the hair sample is sent away.

A typical Intervention

It is usual, although not always the case, that some nutritional supplementation is required to correct any imbalances and to restore health.  There are nearly always dietary modifications.

Where there are ailments such as back pain, fibromyalgia, several sessions of manual therapy, may be recommended.  My time for these, including followup consultations to do with the HTMA are currently (June 2010) priced at $80/hr.

Nutrition Supplements (approximately $100-120)

It is usual to prescribe a maximum of four different nutritional supplements at a time, although this varies according to actual need as identified by the HTMA.  Depending on the size of each container (usually 90 caps/tabs) and dosages, each should last 4-6 weeks.  Most supplements are $25-$45 per bottle/packet and depending on quantity.

Duration ($80-160)

It is usual to continue an intervention for three months, so it may be necessary to replenish any supplements 2-3 times in order to maintain consistency with the intervention.  We may need to meet 2-3 times for 30-60 minutes a time ($80/hr)

Maintenance ($80-160)

From 3-6 months we may stop or reduce any supplementation, while continuing with the beneficial diet and lifestyle changes, including exercise.  Again, we may meet 2-3 times.

Repeat of the HTMA ($225)

Some time during the 3-6 month period of “maintenance” we will repeat the HTMA to obtain a comparative report with the first one.  This is important to provide feedback as to the effectiveness of whatever we did over the previous 3-6 months of intervention and to chart your course ahead.  My time is included in this fee.

Where there are ongoing health issues, or special cases such as hard athletic training and competition, repeat testing and refinement may continue every 6-12 months for as long as you feel the need is there.
