What is the safe alternative to Mammography Xrays?

For a start, a mammogram may be unsuitable for a small woman. If there is an abnormality to the side of the breast or near the armpit region of the breast, will the mammogram pick it up? Probably not. Also, its not a good idea to crush a possible tumour between the hard x ray plates.
