Adrenal fatigue - Is it a lesser form of Addisons Disease or Bunkum?

"It is being called the plague of the 21st century - a condition that has reached epidemic proportions. If you crave coffee and can't relax without a wine, you could be a sufferer of Adrenal fatigue. It is said to occur when the body is overwhelmed by stress. While some people swear its reaching crisis point, others argue it doesn't even exist.

Live debate with Associate Professor of Medicine at the Dunedin School of Medicine, Dr Patrick Manning and from the United States Dr James L Wilson visiting New Zealand for the first time. It is his company that produces the supplements designed to combat adrenal fatigue." Quoted from TV One Close Up

Gary comments:
Adrenal fatigue is a medical condition that was recognised by just about every doctor until abou
t mid way through last century.  It ceased to be taught in the medical schools coinciding with the advent of patentable medicines for the most extreme form of the condition: Addisons Disease - complete failure of the adrenal glands.

Incidentally, I first learned about adrenal fatique from a South African doctor about 20 years ago.  And I am about to attend a practitioner's training course on adrenal fatigue by Dr James Wilson.

Most disease, including Addisons, have a progressive development that is called Adrenal Fatigue.  The treatment of adrenal fatique to stop the progression towards Addisons Disease is through lifestyle and natural therapies, including some supplementation.  This may include adrenal extracts, some minerals and vitamins, none of which can be patented by the pharmaceutical industry.

You may think that lack of recognition of adrenal fatigue, even by those at the professorial level of medicine, is scandalous.  You may be right!

For everything that you need to know about adrenal fatigue, please go to this excellent New Zealand website.  Dr Wilson's book on adrenal fatigue is a must read publication for patients and health practitioners.  Having met him in person, I can assure readers that his depth of knowledge and understanding of human physiology is remarkable.  His book is available through me at a very good price.  Please go to my web store or contact me by email to purchase.
